A Bespoke Solid Oak Dining Table for an Edwardian Home

A True Centrepiece in West London

Our custom-designed solid oak dining table is the centrepiece of this Edwardian family home in West London. Positioned at the heart of the dining room, it provides seating for ten and creates a natural flow within the space. The table complements the home’s character and the solid oak flooring that runs throughout.

Collaboration and Craftsmanship

Working in collaboration with Andrew Dominic Furniture, we designed and commissioned a bespoke dining table that balances timeless craftsmanship with modern practicality. At three metres long, it was tailored for family gatherings, entertaining, and daily living. This makes it as functional as it is beautiful.

Choosing the Right Materials

The material choice was crucial. We selected super prime rift-sawn oak, valued for its durability and elegant straight grain. This cut enhances the refined look of the table while ensuring it will age gracefully. Every detail was carefully considered, from the tactile quality of the timber to the way light plays across its surface.

Attention to Detail in Construction

The craftsmanship extends to its construction. The legs slide into concealed dovetail channels within the tabletop, ensuring stability and a seamless aesthetic. This joinery method highlights attention to detail and reinforces the handcrafted nature of the piece.

Designed for Longevity and Connection

The result is a piece of architectural furniture that feels at home within an Edwardian setting. It marries tradition with contemporary design values. More than simply a dining table, it represents the importance of bespoke furniture that connects with its environment while offering longevity and purpose.
